  • ๐Ÿ›ป Fatal Crash in Wendell
    Idaho State Police are investigating a deadly crash at Main and Idaho Streets. A 68-year-old Wendell motorcyclist died after colliding with a semi. Main Street was closed for three hours.
  • ๐Ÿ‘ฎโ€โ™‚๏ธ Rape Charge in Twin Falls
    30-year-old Matthew Brooks faces felony rape charges after allegedly assaulting a woman he met via Snapchat. She reported blacking out and telling him to stop, but he didnโ€™t. Bond: $250,000. Court date: July 3.
  • ๐Ÿ“ธ Child Exploitation Case
    Michael Allen Montoya of Burley was sentenced to 30 years in federal prison for producing sexual abuse content involving two children. He will also register as a sex offender and be under lifetime supervision.
  • ๐Ÿ”ช Prison Assault Sentencing
    Elijah Joseph Grant St. Onge, an inmate at Idaho Maximum Security Prison, received a life sentence (10 years fixed) for attacking a correctional officer with a handmade weapon. It adds to his sentences for robbery and child sex abuse.

  • ๐Ÿšซ Gender-Affirming Care Ban Enforced
    Idaho can now fully enforce its ban on gender-affirming care for minors after a lawsuit was dismissed. The plaintiffsโ€”trans teensโ€”have moved out of the state.
  • ๐Ÿ“œ New Laws Starting July 1
    New Idaho laws include:
    • Banning required medical treatments for employment
    • Firing squad as the primary execution method
    • Death penalty expansion for child sex abuse
    • DEI restrictions in public colleges
    • School choice tax credit expansion
    • Cursive writing requirement by 5th grade
    • State tax cuts
  • ๐Ÿ› Kohberger Trial Updates
    Jury selection for Bryan Kohberger begins August 4, with opening statements August 18. Sealed hearings: July 28โ€“Aug 1.
  • โš– Planned Parenthood Medicaid Ruling
    The U.S. Supreme Court ruled states can cut Medicaid funding to Planned Parenthood. While it hasnโ€™t hit Idaho yet, the organization warns that Idaho lawmakers may act, especially given abortion is already banned in the state.

Burley hosts the 50th Annual Idaho Regatta with over 80 racers, including 45 youth, on the Snake River. Events include:
