NO KINGS PROTEST DRAWS THOUSANDS
Thousands gathered at the Idaho State Capitol Saturday for a “No Kings” protest targeting President Donald Trump and state policies, with organizers estimating around five thousand attendees. Similar demonstrations were also held across Idaho, including in Twin Falls.
MERIDIAN SHOOTING LEAVES FOUR INJURED
Four people were hurt in an early Sunday shooting in Meridian. Police say injuries are non-life-threatening, two suspects are in custody, and there’s no ongoing threat.
E-VERIFY BILL ADVANCES
An Idaho House committee is advancing a bill to require E-Verify for government jobs and large contractors, sending it forward for possible changes before a full House vote.
BATHROOM BILL HEADS TO GOVERNOR
Idaho lawmakers have approved a bill creating criminal penalties for using bathrooms designated for the opposite sex, sending it to Governor Brad Little for final consideration. Some say they will leave the state if it becomes law.
FISH & GAME COMMISSIONER CHARGED
An Idaho Fish and Game commissioner faces multiple hunting-related charges. Brody Harshbarger has pleaded not guilty, with a court hearing set for April 29 in Fremont County.
LAW ENFORCEMENT PUSHES BACK ON IMMIGRATION BILLS
Idaho law enforcement groups are pushing back on new immigration bills, saying lawmakers aren’t consulting officers and warning the proposals could strain local resources.
WEEKEND CRASHES ACROSS IDAHO
Idaho State Police investigated several crashes across the state this weekend. A semi tipped over near Butte City Sunday afternoon, blocking Highway 33 for about eight hours, with the driver suffering minor injuries. In Caldwell, a wrong-way crash on I-84 turned deadly early Saturday. In Chubbuck, a semi hit a barrier on I-15, slowing traffic to one lane.

Governor Brad Little has signed a new law blocking the public release of death investigation photos, aiming to protect families’ privacy.
LEGISLATURE MISSES DEADLINE
The Idaho Legislature missed its goal to wrap up the session by March 27 and will return today at the Idaho State Capitol. Lawmakers still have unresolved budget issues as the session moves past its 75th day.

HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL ROUNDUP
Busy stretch on the diamond—Burley split a doubleheader with Mountain Home, falling 6 to 3 in game one, then bouncing back big 12 to 1 in game two, and they’ll face Twin Falls tomorrow. Twin Falls had a strong showing, beating Highland 6 to 4 and shutting out Pocatello 12 to nothing, but fell to Bonneville twice, 14 to 2 and a close 6 to 5. Wendell dominated Garden Valley 12 to nothing and 21 to 11, then rolled past Soda Springs 12 to 2. Minico picked up a pair of wins over Pocatello, 5 to 3 and 7 to 6 in eight innings. Looking at today’s schedule, Declo is at Bear Lake at 3, and Gooding takes on Glenns Ferry in a doubleheader at 4 and 6.
SOFTBALL SCORES & SCHEDULE
On the softball field this past weekend, Wendell rolled over Soda Springs 16 to 1. Looking ahead to today—Wood River faces Skyline in a doubleheader at 3 and 5, Declo is at Firth at 4, and Rimrock takes on Glenns Ferry at 4:30.
CSI MEN FINISH AS NATIONAL RUNNER-UP
The College of Southern Idaho men’s basketball team wrapped up a remarkable season as NJCAA national runner-up, falling to top-seeded Howard College 82 to 67 in the title game. The Golden Eagles led early in the second half, but Howard pulled away late. Ben Thornbrue led CSI with 21 points as the Eagles finish 34 and 3 with multiple titles this season.
CSI WOMEN FALL IN QUARTERFINALS
On the women’s side, CSI fell to Eastern Arizona 64 to 56 in the NJCAA quarterfinals. The Golden Eagles were within three entering the fourth but couldn’t close it out. Ashley Garner led the way with 18 points and 11 rebounds as CSI wraps up a strong season at 29 and 5, finishing tied for fifth in the nation.
CSI BASEBALL COMEBACK WIN
CSI baseball pulled off a big comeback, beating Colorado Northwestern 13 to 11. Down five runs late, CSI rallied before Trey Purser crushed a three-run homer in the ninth to take the lead. The Golden Eagles improve to 31 and 6 overall and will host Salt Lake this week.
CSI SOFTBALL SWEEPS
CSI softball picked up a pair of wins over USU Eastern, 6 to nothing and 10 to 2. Sophia Bristow threw a one-hit shutout in game one, while the offense stayed hot in game two with multiple RBI performances. The Golden Eagles improve to 16 and 9 and will host Treasure Valley next.
BOISE STATE LOSES HEARTBREAKER
Boise State softball dropped a tough one Sunday, falling to Colorado State 7 to 6 on a walk-off three-run homer in the seventh. The Broncos had led 6 to 2 before the late rally. Boise State now sits at 18 and 20 and will host New Mexico later this week.
IDAHO STATE WINS SERIES
Idaho State softball fell to Weber State 11 to 8 Sunday but still won the series two games to one. The Bengals battled back from a big early deficit, with Alyssa Yee leading the offense. Idaho State now sits 25 and 14 and will host Portland State this weekend.
