I-84 REOPENS AFTER STANDOFF
Interstate 84 near the Ten Mile exit in Boise has fully reopened after being shut down in both directions due to police activity. Authorities confirmed the closure stemmed from an armed standoff that halted traffic entirely for a period of time. Meridian Police reported that the suspect involved in the incident has now been taken into custody. Normal traffic flow has resumed in the area following the resolution of the situation.

SOFTBALL DOMINANCE ACROSS THE VALLEY
Softball action—Burley sweeps Jerome, winning game one 11 to 1 and game two 15 to 10… and they’ll head to Pocatello Saturday. Gooding rolled past Wendell 16 to 1, powered by big bats from Jaelynn Patton, Olivia Rogers, and Scottlyn Martin—each driving in three. Kimberly dominated Canyon Ridge twice, 18 to 1 and 17 to nothing… and Glenns Ferry swept Garden Valley 19 to 3 and 13 to 1.
BASEBALL SCORES & FIREPOWER
On the baseball diamond—Thunder Ridge outslugged Canyon Ridge 17 to 10… Filer crushed Sugar-Salem twice, 17 to 1 and 9 to 4… and Gooding took down Wendell 22 to 14.

High school baseball on the schedule today—at 3:30, Wood River heads to Jerome for a conference matchup. At 4 o’clock, Salmon is at Gooding in non-conference action. Also at 5, Marsing visits Mountain Home. Then at 6 tonight, Twin Falls travels to Minico for a conference game.
On the softball side today, at 3 o’clock, Mountain Home is at Canyon Ridge in conference play, and Twin Falls is at Minico. At 3:30, Sugar-Salem visits Filer in a non-conference game. Then at 4, Salmon is at Gooding. Later on, Mountain Home and Canyon Ridge meet again at 5, with Twin Falls at Minico also set for 5. And at 5:30 this evening, Sugar-Salem is back at Filer.
IDAHO STATE SOFTBALL ON FIRE
Idaho State Bengals softball is rolling into conference play after taking two of three from Weber State—winning 7 to 3 and 12 to 4 before falling 11 to 8 in the finale. The Bengals exploded for 27 runs and hit .420 as a team in the series, led by Alyssa Yee, who earned Big Sky Player of the Week honors. Idaho State continues its strong 2026 season as one of the top teams in the conference.
BOISE STATE SPRING GAME
Boise State Broncos football returns April 25th with the annual spring game at Albertsons Stadium. Kickoff is set for 1:30, with free parking and admission. Fans can enjoy a postgame autograph session, plus a youth flag football jamboree. Gates open at 12:30, with a full day of Bronco football and family fun on The Blue.
VANDALS ADD COACHING TALENT
Idaho Vandals football has a new addition to the coaching staff—Head Coach Thomas Ford Jr. announcing Dom Anderson as pass game coordinator and defensive backs coach. Anderson brings coordinator experience from Fayetteville State and Missouri Western, where he helped build one of the top defenses in Division II.
BENGALS HOST HOME SERIES
Idaho State Bengals softball is back home this weekend, hosting Portland State for a three-game series at Miller Ranch Stadium. Friday games are set for 1 and 3:30, with Saturday at 1. The Bengals come in hot at 25-and-14 overall and tied for second in the Big Sky.
SHOSHONE FALLS FEES RETURN
The City of Twin Falls has reopened the Shoshone Falls and Dierkes Lake ticket booth. Admission is five dollars per vehicle from 11 to 5 daily, helping cover park maintenance and lifeguards. Season passes are also available for twenty-five dollars.
