🚔 CHILD STRUCK

Twin Falls Police are investigating after a child was struck by a vehicle around 10:40 last night near 700 Pole Line Road. The child was treated at the scene before being airlifted by Air St. Luke’s to a Boise hospital.

🏍 MOTORCYCLE CRASH

Twin Falls Police are investigating a motorcycle crash that happened around 5:44 yesterday morning at Blue Lakes Boulevard and Addison Avenue. Police say a 33-year-old rider was seriously injured and airlifted by Life Flight. The intersection was closed for several hours during the investigation.

🔥 SHOP FIRE

Twin Falls firefighters battled a large shop fire early yesterday morning near 3400 North and 2900 East. Crews arrived around 1 a.m. to find the building heavily involved in flames. The fire was brought under control just before 3 a.m., but the shop and its contents were a total loss.

🚗 FATAL CRASH

A 59-year-old Idaho Falls woman has died following a four-vehicle crash yesterday afternoon near Iona. Idaho State Police say a van failed to stop at a stop sign and struck another vehicle, triggering a chain-reaction crash. The highway was closed for about five hours while crews investigated.

⚖ BATHROOM LAW

A federal judge has temporarily blocked parts of Idaho’s new transgender bathroom law just days before it was set to take effect July 1st. The judge ruled portions of the law may be too vague to enforce while a lawsuit moves forward. Restrictions involving changing rooms, locker rooms, and showers are not affected by the ruling.

🎆 FIREWORKS SAFETY

Fireworks go on sale today across Idaho, and officials are reminding everyone to celebrate safely. Only “safe and sane” fireworks are legal, meaning no bottle rockets, Roman candles, or firecrackers. Keep fireworks away from dry grass and buildings, soak them after use, and remember, you can be held responsible if a fire starts.

🚙 FOURTH OF JULY TRAVEL

If you’re traveling for the Fourth of July, expect plenty of company. AAA says a record 72.2 million Americans, including about 426,000 Idahoans, will travel at least 50 miles from home over the holiday. AAA says travel demand remains strong despite economic concerns.

🇺🇸 AMERICA250

Governor Brad Little has granted state employees two extra paid days off around the Fourth of July holiday. The move recognizes America250, celebrating the nation’s 250th anniversary of independence.

🏆 SPORTS

⚾ AMERICAN LEGION BASEBALL

The American Legion baseball season has reached its midway point, and Magic Valley teams are heating up. The Twin Falls Cowboys AA swept defending state champion Post 56 to extend their winning streak to four games. At the Mike Federico-Dan Creek Invitational, the Twin Falls Red Hawks finished third after beating the Twin Falls Cowboys A 13-3. Meanwhile, Buhl has won nine of its last ten games, and the Burley Green Sox have stretched their winning streak to six straight.

🏀 CSI BASKETBALL CAMP

The College of Southern Idaho is hosting its annual girls basketball team camp through Wednesday, featuring 19 varsity and junior varsity teams from across Idaho, including Twin Falls and Kimberly. Teams will play two games a day, with 57 games scheduled overall at CSI, Twin Falls High School, and Canyon Ridge. New CSI women’s basketball coach Brenden Wheeler says the camp helps showcase local talent while also serving as a recruiting opportunity for the Golden Eagles.

🏒 INDOOR ICE RINK

A pair of Magic Valley moms are working to bring a permanent indoor ice rink to southern Idaho. The newly formed Southern Idaho Ice Association says a community survey has already drawn more than 1,200 responses showing strong support for the project. Organizers are now exploring locations, fundraising opportunities, and partnerships. A youth sports camp fundraiser is planned for August 1st and 2nd in Filer to help support the effort.

🤠 IDAHO PBR CLASSIC

Arizona’s Hunter Kelly captured the 2026 Idaho PBR Classic Saturday at Shouse Arena in Filer. Kelly was the only rider to stay on both bulls, posting a winning aggregate score of 170.2 and earning more than $9,000. Several Idaho riders finished in the top 10, including Buhl’s Wyatt Cooper, who placed fifth with an 84-point ride. Rupert’s Logan Smith also cracked the top 10 in his first-ever PBR-sanctioned event.

🏈 IDAHO VANDALS

The Idaho Vandals have added another piece to their secondary, signing cornerback Sha’Heem Taylor from Riverside City College. The 6-foot-2 defensive back recorded a pick-six and helped Riverside reach the conference championship game last season. Taylor becomes Idaho’s second defensive back addition of the summer.

🏈 BOISE STATE FOOTBALL

Boise State football fans planning to follow the Broncos on the road this season should act soon. The priority deadline to request away-game tickets is July 6. Boise State’s 2026 road schedule includes trips to Oregon, Fresno State, Washington State, Western Michigan, and Colorado State, with seating assigned based on priority rankings.
