🏛️ Twin Falls Approves FY 2027 Budget

The Twin Falls City Council has unanimously approved the city’s roughly $96.5 million fiscal year 2027 budget. The council also moved forward with an agreement involving the city’s Flock license-plate-reading camera system, following earlier discussions over access to the camera network.

🔥 Wildfires & Evacuations

A lightning-caused fire in the South Hills prompted evacuations yesterday at Wagon Wheel Springs and Fifth Fork Campground. The Mountain View Fire is estimated at about 25 acres south of Kimberly.

Crews are also battling the 2,000-acre Wildhorse Fire and the 2,700-acre Tuana Gulch Fire. In Owyhee County, Riddle remains under a Level 3 “GO NOW” evacuation. 🚨

🗳️ Idaho Voter Registration Glitch Fixed

A glitch that made some Idaho voters appear unregistered online has now been fixed. The Secretary of State’s Office says the problem involved some cellphone searches containing extra spaces or middle names. Officials stress that no actual voter registrations were changed.

🏥 Nearly $1 Billion for Rural Healthcare

Idaho has been awarded nearly $1 BILLION in federal funding to improve rural healthcare over the next five years. The state is expected to receive about $186 million annually, with applications now open for the first round of funding. 💰🏥

⛽ Gas Prices Keep Climbing

Idaho drivers are paying more at the pump again. AAA says the statewide average is now $4.49 a gallon, up seven cents from last week and about a dollar higher than a year ago.

Twin Falls is also averaging $4.49, and Idaho now ranks eighth nationally for gas prices. 😬⛽

⚡ Higher Idaho Power Bills

Idaho Power customers are seeing higher electric bills this year. Residential rates increased about 10% in January and another 3% in June, with a poor water year and increased summer energy demand contributing to higher costs.

🌊 Search Ends at Swan Falls Dam

Search efforts have ended for a man who fell into the Snake River near Swan Falls Dam Sunday evening and never resurfaced. Fast-moving currents and poor visibility made recovery efforts difficult.

🚧 Jerome Road Work Begins Tomorrow

Expect delays in Jerome! Daytime flagging begins tomorrow on East Frontage Road North, Bob Barton Road and Lincoln Avenue.

ITD says crews will be grinding pavement, with delays of up to 15 minutes possible. Business access will remain open, and intermittent flagging on local roads is expected to continue through November. 🚜🚧

It was a big day for Buhl soccer! The Buhl boys beat Gooding 4-2, while the Buhl girls rolled to an 8-3 victory. 🥅

🦅 CSI Women Open With a Statement Win

CSI women’s soccer opened the 2026 season with a huge 3-0 shutout over 14th-ranked Laramie County!

Twin Falls native Elektra Cresswell scored the season’s first goal in the 20th minute, followed by Brielle Cooper and Hailey Pool. CSI outshot Laramie County 18-4 and allowed just one shot on goal.

The Golden Eagles now head to Washington for two scrimmages before opening SWAC play on September 5th. ⚽🦅

🏈 Ashton Jeanty Avoids Major Injury

Former Boise State star Ashton Jeanty gave Raiders fans a scare after landing awkwardly during practice Sunday and needing help off the field.

Initial fears included a possible ACL injury, but Jeanty was diagnosed with a sprained ankle. The Raiders are calling it a short-term injury, although there is no timetable yet for his return.
