Deadly Crash Sentencing A man was sentenced Friday for a deadly crash near Buhl. Henry Lito Lazo Sanchez received a suspended sentence and probation after a front-end loader he was driving killed 19-year-old Dalton Lewis. Sanchez fled the scene and may face deportation.

She’s representing herself and has pleaded not guilty. Vallow Daybell was previously convicted in Idaho for the murders of her children and Tammy Daybell.

Twin Falls Softball Dominates Minico It was all Bruins in their Great Basin Conference softball opener as Twin Falls swept Minico in a dominant doubleheader. Game one ended in four innings, 17–2. The Bruins exploded for 11 runs in the third inning. Boise State signee Molly Hodge went 2-for-3 with a triple and a three-run single. Kaitlyn Hudson added four RBIs on two hits, and Libby Torgrimson had a three-run double among her four RBIs. Bro Holcomb earned the win, giving up no earned runs in four innings. In game two, Hodge stayed hot, going a perfect 4-for-4 with a triple, double, and two singles. Braylin Iverson and Makenzie Hudson each tripled, and Audrey Gourley picked up the win as the Bruins rolled 14–5 to complete the sweep.
Jerome vs. Canyon Ridge Jerome and Canyon Ridge split a doubleheader. In game one, a grand slam in the seventh by Emma Allen lifted Jerome to a 7–5 win. Dani Toolson went 3-for-4 for the Riverhawks. Canyon Ridge bounced back in game two, walking it off 13–12. Henley Collins scored on a sac fly to end it. Collins and Megan Kennedy combined for six hits and seven RBIs.
Wendell Crushes Firth Wendell steamrolled Firth 21–2 in 3A action. The Trojans scored in every inning and were led by Breanna Comstock and Audra Bunn, each with multiple hits and RBIs. Comstock pitched a shutout in the win.
Glenns Ferry Stays Undefeated In 2A, Glenns Ferry crushed Rimrock 22–0, staying undefeated at 8–0. Peyton Stewart had six RBIs, and Sahira Arevalo and Shelby Dickson both knocked inside-the-park home runs. The Pilots allowed no hits.
Teton Baseball Tops Declo Teton topped Declo 12–2 behind a big offensive day, including a two-run single from Race Zollinger.
Mountain Home vs. Twin Falls In 5A play, Mountain Home and Twin Falls split a doubleheader. The Tigers took game one 4–3 thanks to a three-run sixth. CSI commit Cooper Thompson had two hits for the Bruins. Twin Falls bounced back in game two, winning 9–5. Nolan Lehew and Thompson each had two RBIs, and Dalton Carter struck out five in the win.
Minico Shuts Out Jerome Finally, Minico shut out Jerome 4–0 behind Jase Murphy’s dominant outing—seven strikeouts over six-plus innings. Dominic Garza went 3-for-3 at the plate.
