Your Daily Briefing – 04/22/2025

🚓 PUBLIC SAFETY & CRIME

  • Twin Falls Police are investigating a loud boom heard around 9:40 p.m. last night. Dozens reported the sound, some likening it to a mortar. Officers checked several areas, including a trailer on Terrace Drive, but so far, no source has been found.

📉 ECONOMY & JOBS

  • Idaho’s unemployment rate held steady at 3.7% from February to March, despite a shrinking labor force. Nonfarm jobs dipped slightly, with losses in healthcare, real estate, and education. Twin Falls saw a 0.4% job growth, the highest in the state.
  • Gas prices in Idaho are dipping, with regular averaging $3.31 a gallon—down two cents from last week. AAA says falling crude oil prices are driving the trend, and more savings could be on the way.
