Sports: High School Baseball
- In the 6A High Country Conference, No. 4 Thunder Ridge beat No. 5 Canyon Ridge 12-7 in a play-in game. Kohyn Barnes and Justin Martin each had two hits. Thunder Ridge now moves on to face Highland today in a doubleheader starting at 3 p.m. Canyon Ridge finishes their season at 6-16.
- In the 4A Sawtooth Central Idaho Conference, No. 1 Kimberly dominated Gooding 10-0 in five innings. Jeremiah Bybee had three RBIs and seven strikeouts. Kimberly will host Buhl for the SCIC championship tomorrow.
- Buhl earned their title shot by shutting out Filer 8-0. Remington Higley threw a two-hit shutout, while Porter Higley went a perfect 4-for-4. Gooding and Filer will meet in a loser-out game tomorrow.
- In 3A play, Soda Springs outlasted Declo 9-8. Declo had the tying run at third but couldn’t bring it home and will face Lighthouse Christian tomorrow in the 3A SEIC tournament.
- In non-tournament action, Nampa Christian erupted late to beat Wendell 10-2. Wendell wraps up the regular season at 7-13-1.
- District titles and state play-in spots are up for grabs tomorrow — it’s win or go home!
Sports: High School Softball
- In 5A action, Twin Falls outlasted Jerome 20-16 in eight innings, finishing a game that started last week. Makenzie Hudson scored the go-ahead run before Bri Holcomb and Libby Torgrimson added key RBIs. Twin Falls ends the regular season 14-10 and clinches the top seed in the Great Basin Conference tournament. Jerome, now 11-11, will host Mountain Home Thursday as the No. 4 seed.
- In 3A, Soda Springs powered past Declo 16-6 in five innings. Declo scored early but couldn’t stop a huge nine-run first inning from the Cardinals. Declo wraps up their regular season at 8-11.
- In 2A, Glenns Ferry dominated Horseshoe Bend 17-0 behind Taylor Martinez’s no-hitter. Martinez also went 4-for-4 at the plate, striking out nine batters. Peyton Stewart added five RBIs for the Pilots, who improve to 18-3 and remain unbeaten in conference play.
Sports: CSI Softball
- The College of Southern Idaho softball team closes the regular season this weekend against Utah State-Eastern. CSI has already clinched the Scenic West title — their first since 2022 — thanks to a tiebreaker over Salt Lake. The Golden Eagles swept Utah State-Eastern earlier this year and could have another big offensive weekend. CSI will host the Region 18 Tournament opener May 6 at noon, likely against North Idaho College.
