🚨 CRIME & INCIDENTS

  • A driver died after their pickup plunged off the Perrine Bridge into the canyon around 3:30 p.m. yesterday. Idaho State Police say the green 1995 Ford Ranger struck multiple surfaces during the fall. Anyone with video or witness info is urged to call ISP.
  • An Owyhee County deputy shot and killed an armed man early yesterday in Bruneau after the suspect reportedly refused to drop a rifle. Authorities say the man was intoxicated and unwanted at the home. The Critical Incident Task Force is investigating.
  • Madison County deputies are searching for Daytona “Tony” Travis, a person of interest in a stabbing on Highway 33. He was last seen in a white Ford F-150 and is considered armed and dangerous.
  • A 68-year-old Caldwell man died late Thursday after suffering a medical emergency and becoming violent, according to police. He lost consciousness after being restrained for safety. Despite life-saving efforts, he died at the scene. The incident is under investigation.
  • Police are investigating after a person died from a gunshot wound Thursday night at Friendly Village Mobile Home Park in Kimberly. The victim’s identity hasn’t been released. Authorities say it appears to be an isolated incident with no ongoing threat.

🪧 PROTESTS & POLITICS

  • Thousands joined “No Kings Day” protests across Idaho Saturday, including in Boise, Twin Falls, and Hailey, rallying against authoritarianism and the Trump administration. Events remained peaceful, with large turnouts and no reported incidents.

🏭 BUSINESS & ECONOMY

  • Boise’s Micron Technology is boosting its U.S. investment to $200 billion, adding a second chip plant in Boise and four in New York. The expansion aims to produce 40% of its DRAM chips in the U.S. and could create 90,000 jobs nationwide.

🎉 COMMUNITY EVENTS

  • Perrona Fest lit up Twin Falls City Park for Father’s Day with food trucks, live Hispanic music, vendors, and family fun. Hosted by 99.1 La Perrona, the event has become a tradition celebrating community and culture for over a decade.

⚾ SPORTS

  • The Burley Green Sox A team swept Filer on Saturday, winning 6-1 and 12-3. Ike Redder and Gaige Funk led Game 1 with two hits and two RBIs each, while Braxton Warr earned the win. In Game 2, Benny Redder went 4-for-4 and pitched three scoreless innings as Burley improved to 12-2.
  • In B action, Burley and Filer split. Game 1 ended in a 9-9 tie after extra innings, while Filer walked off in Game 2 with a 9-8 win.
  • The Kimberly Dogs B swept the Boise Seminoles 14U, 12-0 and 9-8. Daxton Reid pitched a one-hit shutout in Game 1, and Taylor and Bennett led the way at the plate in Game 2 as Kimberly moved to 6-0.
  • Oakdale’s Andy Guzman won the Idaho PBR Classic in Filer Saturday with two top rides, totaling 174 points. New Plymouth’s Brock Cooper finished second with 157 points. The event was part of the PBR Challenger Series at Shouse Arena.
