🚨 ACCIDENTS & INVESTIGATIONS

  • Hammett Hill Fatal Crash:
    Idaho State Police are investigating a deadly crash that occurred yesterday afternoon near Hammett Hill Road in Elmore County. A Ford Focus overturned after leaving the roadway—three people were ejected and died at the scene.
  • Perrine Bridge Death Identified:
    58-year-old Dean Krause was identified as the man who died after his pickup plunged off the Perrine Bridge into the Snake River Canyon Sunday. Police are asking witnesses to come forward with any video or information.
  • West Valley Medical CEO Death Dispute:
    The family of West Valley Medical Center CEO Nicholas Manning claims he was the victim of fraud and homicide, disputing Baltimore police reports suggesting a possible overdose. Manning was found dead June 6.

🛢 GAS PRICES

Despite Middle East tensions, gas prices remain stable. AAA says Idaho’s average is $3.29 per gallon—unchanged from last week, and 29 cents lower than a year ago. Nationally, prices sit at $3.14.


⚖ COURTS & LEGAL

The Idaho Supreme Court has ordered Attorney General Raúl Labrador and state budget officials to revise the short ballot title and fiscal impact statement for a proposed abortion rights initiative, ruling the original versions were misleading and violated state law.


🚧 INFRASTRUCTURE & ROADS

  • Blue Lakes Boulevard Repairs:
    Twin Falls City Council has approved emergency funds and fast-tracked repairs for Blue Lakes Boulevard South after a water main break closed the busy road. Work will begin soon, with costs coming in at just over $155,000.
  • Snake River Crossing Meeting:
    The Idaho Transportation Department will host a public meeting June 30 on the proposed Snake River crossing. It’s set for 4 to 7 p.m. at the Herrett Center in Twin Falls. Officials will present early design ideas, environmental review details, and take public comments on the potential new bridge.

💧 WATER CONSERVATION

State and local officials highlighted new water measurement structures along the Highline Canal, aimed at improving efficiency and conservation. The Clover project alone is expected to save 4,000 acre-feet of water, thanks to updated technology and infrastructure.


🎟 LOTTERY

A $1 million Idaho Lottery ticket sold in Star remains unclaimed, and the deadline is June 30 at 5 p.m. Three $1,000 winning tickets from Rathdrum, Nampa, and Middleton also haven’t been claimed.
