🚔 Traffic & Safety
The Idaho State Police are ramping up patrols today along a 60-mile stretch of I-84 near the Utah border, cracking down on speeding. It’s part of a multi-state effort to save lives during the “100 Deadliest Days.” So far in 2025, 126 people have died on Idaho roads. Dial *ISP to report unsafe drivers.
Idaho State Police are asking for the public’s help after a motorcycle pursuit ended near Hubbard Gulch Road Wednesday morning. The rider fled on foot into nearby farm fields and hasn’t been found.

French fry giant Lamb Weston plans to cut 4% of its global workforce—potentially hundreds of jobs. The company, which employs over 1,500 in Idaho and operates plants in Twin Falls and American Falls, has begun notifying U.S. workers. Exact local impacts remain unclear.


🚨 Crime & Incidents
A New Jersey man has been arrested for crimes against a Twin Falls teen. Police say 45-year-old Travis Reisen contacted the 14-year-old through a babysitting ad and extorted explicit content. He’s facing multiple charges.
A serious crash in Bliss yesterday afternoon sent two children to Boise by life flight. Idaho State Police say a Honda Pilot ran a stop sign at Ritchie Road and 2350 South, hitting another vehicle. One driver was hospitalized at Saint Luke’s.


🌲 Public Lands & Environment
A new poll shows 96% of Idaho voters want public lands to stay public. The survey follows a proposal by Senator Mike Lee to sell off millions of acres. Conservation Voters for Idaho says support for public lands unites voters across party lines.
Conservation groups are suing Idaho’s DEQ over air permits for the Stibnite Gold Mine near Yellow Pine in Valley County. They claim toxic dust poses health risks. The mine’s owner, Perpetua Resources, defends the permit, saying it passed years of strict review.

The I-84 Exit 208 off-ramp in Burley reopens today, but expect changes. Highway 27 is down to one lane each way through October 20.

Country star Hunter Hayes is coming to Burley! He’ll headline the United We Stand to End Child Hunger concert Friday, September 13 at the Cassia County Fairgrounds. Proceeds help feed kids across South Central Idaho. Doors open at 5.

At the Idaho American Legion AA State Tournament in Nampa, the Twin Falls Cowboys dropped a tough one to the Nampa Chiefs, 10-5. The Cowboys led 5-2 in the fifth after a bases-clearing double from Maddox Stadelmeir, but Nampa answered with eight unanswered runs. Bryce Mahlke, Jordan Bingham, and Slade Fisher each had two hits. Twin Falls (19-15) moves to the consolation bracket and faces Coeur d’Alene today at 1. Nampa (21-15) meets Pocatello at 7.
At the Idaho A State Tournament in Idaho Falls, Burley’s Green Sox stayed red hot, knocking off Blackfoot 12-7. Ike Redder led with four RBIs, including a bases-clearing triple. Braxton Warr and Jake Redder each added two hits. Burley (32-5) faces Kuna tonight at 6, while Blackfoot (19-12) plays the Melba–Idaho Falls winner at 3.
And congratulations to Castleford High’s Sarah Brackett—now the 2025 Silver State International Rodeo Queen. The Three Creek native follows in her sister’s footsteps and took top honors in seven of nine judged categories.
