Corporate Resignation
A judge in Ohio has kept the details of former Kroger CEO Rodney McMullen’s abrupt resignation private for now. McMullen left within 10 days this spring over what Kroger called a violation of business ethics. But Boise-based Albertsons is pressing for those details in its merger dispute, with a Delaware court hearing set next month.
Perrine Bridge Crash
Traffic was backed up to Exit 173 after a three-vehicle crash on the Perrine Bridge around 5:40 last night. Two people were taken to the hospital, and one driver was cited. Southbound U.S. 93’s right lane was closed while crews cleared the scene, but northbound traffic was unaffected.
Twin Falls Severance Payment
The City of Twin Falls paid former transit coordinator Maxine Durand nearly $14,000 in severance when she resigned in June, according to records. Durand led the Ride TFT program for two years. The city won’t say why the payment was made, citing personnel matters.
Gas Prices Drop Slightly
Idaho drivers are seeing some relief at the pump. AAA says the state average for regular gas is $3.47 a gallon—down two cents from last week, a penny from last month, and 11 cents from a year ago. The national average sits at $3.19. Idaho remains the 8th most expensive state for fuel, with California leading at $4.61.
Roundabout Public Meeting
Twin Falls will host a public meeting Sept. 11 on a proposed roundabout and pedestrian upgrades at Wendell, Filer West, and Martin. The hearing runs 4 to 6 p.m. at City Hall.
Fatal Wendell Crash
Idaho State Police are investigating a fatal crash south of Wendell yesterday. A 22-year-old man driving a Honda Accord lost control at high speed, struck a power pole, and died at the scene. 1700 E remained blocked throughout the night as crews replaced utilities.
Graffiti Investigation
Buhl Police have identified and charged three juveniles after racist and hateful graffiti was spray-painted at the local skate park last weekend. Police credit a strong community response to their Facebook post.
DMV Outage Restored
The Idaho Transportation Department and DMV websites are back online after a statewide outage yesterday. The system crash shut down driver’s license services and other transactions across Idaho. ITD apologized for the disruption and thanked customers for their patience.

Soccer
Twin Falls boys’ soccer opened at home yesterday, with a 1-0 shutout over Canyon Ridge, their third straight win against the Riverhawks. The Bruins followed it with a 0-0 draw against Highland, while Canyon Ridge fell 5-1 to Hillcrest.
Volleyball
It was a big night on the volleyball courts across the Magic Valley. Wendell swept Glenns Ferry at home — 25-19, 25-23, and 25-23 — as the Trojans fought off a late push from the Pilots to close it out.
Buhl also rolled on the road, sweeping Gooding. After a tight 25-22 first set, the Indians took the second 25-13, then finished 25-20 in the third.

Rodeo at Ford Idaho Center
The future ownership of the Ford Idaho Center is still undecided as Nampa considers transferring it to the College of Western Idaho. But the Snake River Stampede isn’t going anywhere. The rodeo has called the venue home since 1992, when it partnered with the city to help build it. Contracts guarantee the rodeo’s future at the facility, and CWI has expressed excitement about supporting it. The Stampede has been a Nampa tradition for 110 years and remains a major summer draw.
