Four years after five-year-old Michael Vaughan went missing from Fruitland, the Payette County Prosecutor’s Office has filed charges in his disappearance and murder. One suspect, Stacey Wondra, faces multiple felony counts while serving time in an Arizona federal prison.


🗳 Magic Valley Voters Head to Polls Tuesday

Magic Valley voters head to the polls tomorrow with key city and school decisions on the ballot. Buhl, Filer, Burley, and Twin Falls all have contested city races, while seven local school districts are asking voters to approve more than $33 million in bonds and levies.


💰 Jerome Farmer Cited in Campaign Finance Case

A Jerome County farmer is learning about Idaho’s campaign finance laws after opposing the valley school levy. Dean Dimond says he overreported his spending to protect others, listing $5,000 in expenses while actually spending about $160. All westbound lanes of I-84 near Exit 173 have reopened after a crash involving a pickup and sedan last night. The highway was shut down around 6 p.m. as crews from ISP and Jerome County responded.

Idaho State Police say a driver was clocked at 100 miles per hour in Twin Falls on Halloween night. Troopers warn such speeds endanger pedestrians and drivers. Holiday patrols will increase over the next two months.


🌋 Small Earthquake Near Lava Hot Springs

A magnitude 2.8 earthquake rattled areas near Lund and Lava Hot Springs Saturday evening. The U.S. Geological Survey reports it struck just after 6 p.m. at a depth of about nine miles.


⚖ Former Deputy AG Appeals Whistleblower Case

A former deputy attorney general has appealed her whistleblower case to the Idaho Supreme Court after a judge dismissed it. Daphne Huang claims she was wrongfully fired from Attorney General Raúl Labrador’s office after raising ethical concerns tied to a child care grant investigation.

  • 4A: Buhl beat McCall-Donnelly 45–19; Gooding lost 34–21 to Snake River; Kimberly had a first-round bye.
  • 3A: Declo’s season ended with a 24–14 loss to New Plymouth.
  • 2A: Kamiah crushed Glenns Ferry 86–22; Logos topped Oakley 62–12; Prairie edged Valley 50–44; Hagerman stormed Potlatch 64–20; Raft River earned a bye.
  • 1A: Tri-Valley defeated Hansen 64–20; Carey advanced with a bye as district champs.

🏀 CSI Basketball Dominates

The CSI men’s basketball team stayed perfect, crushing Southern Nevada 103–73 behind a near triple-double from Ace Reiser (13 pts, 15 rebs, 8 asts).
The CSI women also rolled, forcing 33 turnovers in an 80–30 win over Central Wyoming, led by Savannah Stoker’s 18 points. Both Golden Eagle squads are now 2–0.


🏐 CSI Volleyball Heads to Region 18 Tournament

The #17 CSI Volleyball Team enters the Region 18 Tournament as the No. 2 seed after sweeping North Idaho. Mina Benucci led with 10 kills as CSI improved to 18–8. Tournament play begins Wednesday in Salt Lake City.


🏈 Boise State’s Home Streak Snapped

Boise State’s 16-game home win streak is over after a 30–7 loss to Fresno State. Despite holding the Bulldogs to just 35 passing yards, three turnovers doomed the Broncos. They travel to San Diego State next Saturday.


🏈 Idaho Vandals Win Overtime Thriller

The Idaho Vandals pulled off a Halloween thriller, defeating #19 Northern Arizona 35–32 in OT. Elisha “Turbo” Cummings scored twice, kicker Owen Adams tied it with a 42-yard field goal, and Hayden Kincheloe’s 1-yard run sealed the win. Idaho hosts UC Davis next.


🐅 Idaho State Upsets UC Davis

The Idaho State Bengals stunned #6 UC Davis, 38–36, behind Dason Brooks’ 219 rushing yards and two TDs. Trajan Sinatra’s 50-yard field goal in the final minute sealed the win — their first against a Top-10 team since 2021.
