
ELMORE COUNTY BALLOT DISCREPANCY 
Elmore County spent eight hours hand-counting 3,193 ballots Monday after discovering that 373 werenβt tallied on Election Day β but none of the results changed. Secretary of State Phil McGrane says staff will be back today to determine how the discrepancy happened.
THANKSGIVING TRAVEL ENFORCEMENT 

The Idaho State Police is boosting patrols for Thanksgiving travel, urging drivers to slow down, buckle up, and stay sober as traffic increases. The biggest enforcement push comes tomorrow with ISP teaming up with several Magic Valley sheriffβs offices along I-84 and major highways.
TWIN FALLS TRAIL RULES UPDATE 

Twin Falls has updated its trail and park rules for the first time in 20 years to improve safety and courtesy on the Canyon Rim Trail. The new ordinance targets dangerous behavior from any user β e-bikes, scooters, runners, cyclists β and adds enforceable penalties for unsafe riding and uncollected pet waste.
STATE BUDGET OUTLOOK 

Governor Brad Little says Idaho faces tough budget decisions with a projected deficit topping $58 million. He says heβs optimistic but warns that state agencies must tighten spending as lawmakers head into a challenging session.
NEW PLYMOUTH FIRE & HIGHWAY 30 CLOSURE 

A fire at the Double Diamond Bar in New Plymouth has shut down Highway 30. Officials say the closure will last until midday today as investigators work to determine the cause.
EHV-1 PRECAUTIONS AT TWIN FALLS FAIRGROUNDS 

The Twin Falls County Fairgrounds has temporarily halted horse stabling due to EHV-1 precautions. Officials emphasize the ban is for animal safety only, poses no human risk, and will not affect upcoming events β including Christmas in the Nighttime Sky.
CAPITOL CHRISTMAS TREE LIGHTING 

Everyoneβs invited to the Capitol Christmas Tree Lighting on December 3. Festivities start at 5:30 with music, treats, Santa, and the official lighting at 6:30 p.m., running until 7:30.
KIMBERLY OPEN HOUSE ON ROAD SAFETY 

ITD will host a December 2 open house in Kimberly to gather input on possible safety upgrades at the busy Idaho 50/Rock Creek Road intersection. Options include a traffic signal and roadway shifts. An online meeting runs Dec. 2β16 for those unable to attend.

DECLO FOOTBALL SWEEPS AWARDS 

Declo dominated the 3A Southeast Idaho all-conference awards. Senior Kyle Bott was named Defensive Player of the Year. Dacx Garrard earned first-team honors at both receiver and linebacker, Landon Silcock secured two-way recognition, and Traecyn Thaxton, Dane Garrard, and Zane Snedaker were also first-team selections. Several other Hornets earned second-team and honorable-mention nods after a dominant season.

BRONCOS FALL TO USC IN MAUI CLASSIC 

Boise Stateβs four-game win streak ended in a tight 70β67 loss to USC at the Maui Invitational. Javan Buchanan led with 18 points and Pearson Carmichael added 14 and seven rebounds. Despite out-rebounding USC and holding them below scoring averages, the Broncosβ last-second three missed. They face NC State today at 12:30.
CSU SUSPENDS PLAYERS FOR SPITTING INCIDENT 

Colorado State suspended QB Darius Curry and lineman Liam Wortmann after both were caught spitting on Boise State players during Saturdayβs game. A viral video showed Curry spitting at Jayden Virgin-Morgan. CSUβs interim coach and AD apologized, and the Mountain West praised the swift response. Boise State won 49β21.
