University of Idaho killings suspect Bryan Kohberger was reportedly investigated in connection with a home invasion case a year before the Idaho slayings. There is an avalanche warning in effect this morning.  The advisory was issued by the Sawtooth Avalanche Center over most mountains and valleys in Southern Idaho.  With strong winds in the upper elevations of Idaho and heavy snow, there is a level three advisory for Soldier and Wood River Valley Mountains, as well as the Sawtooth and Western Smoky Mountains.

With the winter weather hitting the state snow plows and road crews are out and about.  Motorists are being warned to be on the lookout for the plows and give them extra room.  Last year at least nine plows were hit across the state while working to clear roadways.

SPORTS

The countdown is on.  One week before the college football playoff quarterfinal with Boise State.  No. 3 seed Boise State Broncos will face No. 6 seed Penn State at the Vrbo Fiesta Bowl at State Farm Stadium on Tuesday at 5:30 p.m.  Penn State enters as the heavy favorite in this game hailing from the Big Ten Conference with little to no respect in the national media for Boise State.   That’s not something that will bother the Broncos though as they have been underdogs in each of their previous three Fiesta Bowl appearances.  The winner will be moving on to face the winner of Notre Dame-Georgia in the Capital One Orange Bowl on Jan. 9.
